Filmmakers open festival in Belgium, the Netherlands - 5-7 DecemberAward-winning film Echoes of the Rainbow will open the 2011-2012 edition of the Hong Kong Film Panorama in Brussels (5 December), Antwerp (7 December) and Amsterdam (8 December). The film's director Alex Law and producer Mabel Cheung will attend the screenings. The film won a Crystal Bear for Best Feature Film in the Generation section at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival. More info Brussels and Antwerp Amsterdam
Hong Kong's Chief Executive in Belgium: 8-10 SeptemberMr Donald Tsang visited Brussels and Antwerp from 8 to 10 September 2011. He met with political and business leaders, including the President of the European Council, Mr Herman Van Rompuy and Prime Minister Mr Yves Leterme. He also met HRH Prince Philippe. He addressed a gala dinner to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Belgium-Hong Kong Society, and officiated at the Dragon Boat Festival in Antwerp. More info

HK film director Peter Chan wins Special Career Award at Italian film festival - 11 June 2011The Hong Kong film industry received another mark of international recognition on Saturday 11 June 2011 when director and producer Mr Peter Chan received a Special Career Award at the 9th Asian Film Festival in Reggio Emilia, Italy. HK film director Ann Hui receives Casa Asia Film Week award in Barcelona- 9 June 2011Hong Kong film director Ms Ann Hui was presented with the Casa Asia Film Week Honorary Award in Barcelona on Thursday 9 June 2011. The first edition of this new festival is screening nine Hong Kong films from 9 to 12 June, including five recent productions. The highlight is a retrospective of the works of Ms Hui. More info.
Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury in Brussels - 8 June 2011Professor KC Chan, Hong Kong's Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, will visit Brussels on 8 June. He will meet with the Governor of the National Bank of Belgium, Mr Luc Coene, and with The Chairman of the Financial Services and Market Authority Mr Jean-Paul Servais. He will also speak at a business luncheon hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Brussels, and the Belgium-Hong Kong Society. More info.
Secretary for the Environment to visit France - 26-28 May 2011Hong Kong's Secretary for the Environment, Mr Edward Yau, will visit France from 26 to 28 May. In Paris he will call on Deputy Mayor Pierre Schapira, visit the Global Geoparks Network headquarters, and speak at a luncheon organised by the HKETO, Brussels and the HKTDC. On Friday he will visit the Réserve Géologique de Haute-Provence, a geopark near Digne-les-Bains. The following week he will attend the C40 Large Cities Climate Summit in Sao Paulo to discuss strategies for tackling climate change. View all the last updates ![]()
